Unknown gunmen have shot dead the director of Somalia’s local Shabelle Radio and TV Mokhtar Mohamed Hirabe and wounded the head of radio programs Ahmed Omar (Tajir) on Sunday, witnesses say.

Hirabe has been killed while Hashi was wounded by three masked men armed with pistols inside Mogadishu’s main Bakara market this morning, according to witnesses.
He is the fourth Shabelle member killed within two years as the news of Hirabe’s death shocked all the media people in Somalia and outside of the country. Hashi’s wounded is now being treated in Medina hospital.
Mogadishu became the butcher of the independent journalists as 12 persons including reporters and directors killed within two years.
