ASOJ OPENS TRAINING FOR SOMALILAND JOURNALISTS.
During the week-long training, the 9 participants from
all the regions of Somaliland, will get a broad knowledge on issues related to
Ethics of Journalism, news gathering, and writing of feature Stories. Upon
completion of the training, the ASOJ secretary for women journalists’ affairs Ms
Safia Karani will meet her counterparts in Somaliland, to discuss ways to
exchange views and ideas. “On behalf of ASOJ, I’ll invite them to come to our
headquarter office in Mogadishu for further discussions, and eventual workshop
Planning” said Mrs Karani.
This is the first training of its kind held in Somaliland
by ASOJ. The training was prompted by SOLJA chairman’s visit to Mogadishu. Mr.
Mustafa Abdi Issa met ASOJ officials during his 5 days visit in Mogadishu and
Lower Shabelle region, and agreed upon cooperation between the two
parties.

Three trainers from ASOJ, led by the general coordinator of the Union Mrs Yasmin Mayow today began 7 days journalism training in Hargeisa, the capital city of the republic of Somaliland.
