 Self proclaimed Republic of Somaliland has managed to block access to baligubadlemedia.com on 30 July, 2013 following order issued to the internet service providers.

Editor of Baligubadle Media Ahmed Adan Roble told ASOJ that he could neither update nor visit the page.  “Somtel and Telesom service providing companies blocked the site with a blockage message.  Later tonight I realized that both ISPs blocked the site, following order from Somaliland Government” Said Roble.

 ASOJ denounces such act by the Somaliland authorities.  Dahabshiil company’s sister company, Somtel, blocked access to 36 websites.  Baligubadlemedia.com is the 37^th.

ASOJ calls Telesom to lift the blockage immediately

Somaliland authorities tried before the assassination of the owner of Hubaal Newspaper.  When that attempt failed, they subsequently closed offices of the newspaper.  Both baligubadlemedia.com, and Hubaal newspaper are in the forefront of the Somaliland independent media.
