Mogadishu (Asoj.org) Chairman of Associated Somali Journalists (ASOJ) Dahir Abdulle Alasow who lives in Netherlands offered 2,000 US Dollars to some of the children fathered by the Somali journalists killed in the course of their duty in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.

"I am telling to the Somali journalists that the money i paid is not received from the neither aid agencies nor any other individual but it is from my own pocket and I intended it for the feeding of the orphaned children and their mothers during the Holly Ramadam month." Alasow said.

The money was sent to families of the slain journalists like Bashir Nor Ghedi and Sheik Nor Abkey, may Allah bless them.

Mr. Alasow urged to all Somali journalists to help the children left behind by hero journalists who were unrighteously killed by militias of the Al-Shabaab militant group linked to Al-Qaeda.

"What I do know is that nobody is caring for the children left by my passed-away colleague Sheik Nor Abkey and similarly there is no one who thinks over the Ghedi's children mothered by my sister Amina and I am aware of their inner condition. I am appealing to the paid journalists to assist the other orphans left behind by the journalists killed due to their journalistic tasks." ASOJ chairman said.
Amina Abdulle, the wife of the late Shabelle director Bashor Nor Ghedi, told ASOJ chairman that she had received no telephone call from the owner of the Shabelle Radio. "even he did not call us for the funeral of my husband Bashir Nor Ghedi who was killed in October 18, 2007." she added.
