The Chairman of the Somali Journalists Rights Association Daud Abdi Daud was
arrested by the Kenyan police, after having been conspired by the administration
of Universal TV.
The Somali Journalists in the Kenyan
capital Nairobi have verified for Waagacusub that the chairman was given an
appointment at Universal TV office in Nairobi, and instantly after he has
arrived he was arrested by 2 Kenyan police bribed by the figures who work
against the development of the Somali Journalists and are very sorrowful of the
great achievement reached by the Somali Journalists in Kenya after
democratically electing a Chairman on the 11th of September 2009.
The
veteran Somali Journalists in the Kenyan capital Nairobi are currently engaged
in emancipating the Chairman of SOJRA Mr. Daud from the hands of the Kenyan
Police.
The matter was reported to the Kenyan Police Commissioner, and
said that what Universal TV officials have done is absolutely disgraceful. On
the other hand the Kenyan police Commissioner police added that there is no
Somali TV which is legally registered in Kenya
The emotions of the Somali
journalists in the Kenyan capital Nairobi is high and some of them said that the
arrest of this Journalists will not have any effect on the Somali Journalists,
but stead create an atmosphere of unity among the Journalists, and will give
them simple means who the evil among them is.
The Chairman of the
Association of Somali Journalists (ASOJ) Honorable Dahir Abdulle Alasow, has
expressed his feelings towards this awful arrest, and said that they will dig
deep to detect who is behind the arrest of the Journalist. Honorable Dahir
Abdulle Alasow has put forward the matter to be taken as far as the high court
and pledged to clear the expense of the process.
“If the devils inside
the Somali Journalists thought that bribe can speaks, louder than anything else
we each other know very well and I personally will present the matter of
Journalist Daud to the Kenyan government, and be the facilitator of all sort of
expense need in course of the hearing of the tow Kenyan soldiers who have
unlawfully arrested Daud the respected Journalist” said Honorable Dahir Abdulle
Alasow the Chairman of the Association of Somali Journalists.
The
Chairman of ASOJ Honorable Dahir Alasow has also added in his statement that
when Omar Faruq the hypocrite who used to greedily swallow the rights of the
Somali Journalists heard that the Somali Journalists have elected a Chairman has
started giving out bribe and threats, but explicitly speaking there will be no
more fraud in the new work of the Somali Journalists.
For years the so
called Omar Faruq, who has declared himself as the secretary of NUSOJ, has been
in bulk taking the rights of the Somali journalists from the international
bodies who are concerned of Journalists, and using on his own means, and for now
the Somali journalists have realized this and elected their own Chairman who
will stand in help them in the most appropriate manner.
Worse he has used
the very money he has got in the name of the Somali journalists to arrest them
instead of protecting them.
However the word of the day of the Somali
journalists in the Kenyan Capital Nairobi is that they have now inserted their
heads into a very crucial moment, and the victory of the Somali Journalists is
just at the corner.
