ASOJ Calls Justice for Detained Radio Shabelle Journalists
ASOJ said the detention of two journalists namely Mohamed Bashiir and Mohamud Arab was politicised. ASOJ continue that former justice minister Farah Abdulkadir refused those journalists to be brought before a court of law.
Associated Somali Journalists (ASOJ) condemned the detention of journalists whom they say were arrested by the former minister for justice. The journalists have not gotten justice as they were not brought before a court for what those who arrested them perceive as an offence. They are in detention since 15th August 2014.
"The detention of Shabelle Radio who have been behind bars since 15th August 2014 is an ugly image which indicates the risk and the looming injustice of the near future because it is upon the minister for justice to enable them get justice..". A press release by ASOJ read.
